      在国际部的课堂上,老师和同伴们会探讨身边各种现象背后的科学,也会聊到最前沿、最火热的AI话题……

 

      “科技改变世界”,对此我们深以为然。为了鼓励大家更多地关注科学,激发小伙伴们探秘科学的热情,国际部老师们策划了一次贯穿接下来整个学期的大事件——Shude International Science Fair(树德国际部科技节

科学摄影大赛

 

 

      在我们生活的这个世界,科学的“光影”无处不在,任何我们习以为常的现象背后,都有着科学的身影。比如,水泥阶梯上长出的青苔;星巴克里色彩缤纷的饮料;玻璃窗上偶尔出现的两个太阳……

 

      我们只需要轻轻按动快门,就可以把艺术的审美和科学的神秘相结合,让大家从照片中感受到大自然和生活中物理、化学、生物那别致的美!

 

 

      在这次科学摄影大赛中,我们一共收到了100多张由国际部小伙伴们拍摄的科学瞬间!一起来看看吧……

 

 Water and Ink 

 

水墨

 

This photo is named Water and Ink. It is about the physical phenomenon, diffusion, which describes the net movement of a substance from a region of high concentration to low concentration. When the ink was dropped into water, they finally mixed together.

The inspiration of this photo is from an advertising video about Chinese culture. It applied Chinese ink to form the flowing frames. I have practiced Chinese calligraphy for already nine years, so I have intense interests in Chinese culture. The video left me a very deep mind. Then I shot this picture when a drop of ink entering into the water to record this purely fascinating phenomenon.

 

      这张照片名为“水墨”,描述的扩散这种物理现象,具体为物质分子从高浓度区域向低浓度区域转移,直到均匀分布的现象。当墨滴入水中,他们将最后融合在一起。

 

      我的灵感来自于央视关于中国文化的一个纪录片,它运用了水墨这一元素。而我也学习了九年的软笔书法,所以关于传统文化的这一纪录片给我留下了非常深的印象。于是,我拍摄了这张照片来记录这一时刻。

Two Suns Appearing at the Same Time

 

两个太阳同时出现

 

In the morning, the sun rises with glaring sunlight, leaving two similar images together on the window of my home. The sun appears singly in the sky but double on the window. The theory behind is the reflection and refraction of sunlight.

 

      清晨,朝阳初升,空中唯一的太阳在我家窗户上同时显现出了两个图像。这样的现象是由阳光的反射和折射原理造成的。

Flashlight blurred your photo

闪光灯让照片更模糊

 

Above the two picture, the left one is taken with flash light on, and the other one is the same picture taken without flash light. It is obvious that not only the right one is clearer, it also contains higher fidelity. 

 

You see clearer the things around the television than the images on television when flash light is involved. This is because the flash light, lamp and TV are all light sources themselves. The TV screen acts like lens, colored light emitted from inside of the screen combine up to form live images; when eternal light from lamp or the cell phone flash light is projected on it, there will be reflected light generated, thus interfere the transmitted light emitted from the TV. That's why whenever you want to take picture of TV screen or computer screen, even the cell phone screen, your should turn off other influential light in order to get a clearer picture with high resolution.

 

      在这两张照片中,左边一张是开着闪光灯拍摄的,右边的是拍摄的同一画面,但是没有开闪光灯。很明显,不仅右边的照片更清晰,而且还包含更高的保真度。

 

      当使用闪光灯时,你会看到电视周围的事物比电视上的图像更清晰。这是因为闪光灯,灯泡和电视本身都是光源。电视屏幕就像镜头一样,屏幕内部发出的彩色光线组合起来形成实时图像;当灯或手机闪光灯发出的光线投射到其上时,会产生反射光,从而干扰从电视机发出的透射光。这就是为什么当你想拍摄电视屏幕或电脑屏幕,甚至手机屏幕时,你应该关掉其他有影响的灯光,以获得更清晰的高分辨率图像。

 Emulsion 

 

乳化剂

 

An emulsion is a mixture of two or more liquids that are normally immiscible. Emulsions are part of a more general class of two-phase systems of matter called colloids. Although the terms colloid and emulsion are sometimes used interchangeably, emulsion should be used when both phases, dispersed and continuous, are liquids. In an emulsion, one liquid is dispersed in the other. And in this case, there is the mixture of the oil and water and I pour some detergent into the mixture.

 

      乳化剂是由两种或两种以上的不互溶的液体混合而成。乳化剂属于胶体大家庭的一部分。这两个术语有时可以相互借用,但乳化剂常用于分散且连续的多种液体。在乳化剂里,一种液体往往会分散到另外一种液体中。图上采用的是油水混合物,且在其中加入了一些洗洁剂。

 Osmosis 

 

渗透

 

This picture was taken after a biological process of an onion section called osmosis. Osmosis is the spontaneous net movement of solvent molecules through a semi-permeable membrane into a region of higher solute concentration, in the direction that tends to equalize the solute concentrations on the two sides. 

 

During the experiment, we were first supposed to observe the shape of onion sections under the microscope. After observing them, we needed to put the onion sections into the NaCl solution. Then after several minutes, students could pick up the onion sections and observe them again. We found that onion cells had shrink that the distance between the cells was getting wider and we could see that the distance between the cell wall and the vacuoles was also getting wider. This is because the concentration of NaCl outside the cells is greater, so water will leave the cells and get into the outside environment se that the NaCl concentration will become equal. Since vacuoles are a source to store water in plant cells, they will get smaller in size after osmosis.

 

      这幅照片拍摄于洋葱切片进行渗透的生物过程之后。渗透是水分子经半透膜扩散的现象。它由低浓度区域渗入高浓度区域,直到细胞内外浓度平衡为止。水分子会经由扩散方式通过细胞膜,这样的现象称为渗透。

 

      在实验过程中 ,我们首先在显微镜下观察洋葱细胞的形状。之后,我们将洋葱切片放入盐水。几分钟过后取出洋葱切片,并再一次观察洋葱细胞。通过观察我们发现洋葱细胞内的液泡收缩了。这是因为盐水的浓度比细胞里的浓度高,因此,水分子会从细胞内渗透到盐溶液中使细胞内外的浓度达到平衡。因为液泡是植物细胞中储存水的细胞器,所以在这次渗透后液泡的体积就变小了。
